Integrity Master(tm) provides complete, easy to use, data integrity
for your PC plus virus protection. It can also be used to provide
file change management and security on your PC. It scans for viruses
like other anti-virus products but it also protects you against more
than just viruses.
This high performance assembly language program is written by the
author of PC Magazine's PCdata integrity toolkit. Integrity Master
provides function and performance far beyond any other anti-viral or
data integrity software, yet is easy enough for novice users.
Distinguishing features:
1) Integrity Master recognizes known viruses by name and will describe their
characteristics and then allow you to (optionally) remove them.
2) It can detect not only existing viruses, but also as yet unknown viruses.
Unlike other programs, which you must constantly update to keep ahead of
the current crop of viruses, Integrity Master continues to protect you.
3) Unlike other programs, it detects sectors and files which were damaged by
a virus not just those that were infected.
4) Integrity Master understands which files and areas on your disk are
special and provides special specific diagnosis and recovery if these
areas have changed.
5) Integrity Master can reload system sectors on disks which are so badly
damaged that DOS can no longer recognize them.
6) Integrity Master detects any form of file or program corruption, not
just that caused by viruses. This makes Integrity Master a useful tool
to provide PC security, change management and hardware error detection.
Why spend your time merely checking for viruses when you give your PC a
complete check out with Integrity Master?
7) Integrity Master provides easy to use menus with context sensitive
help plus a complete tutorial. Integrity Master is designed so you
you can start using it immediately -- no need to open the manual!
8) Integrity Master is useful as an aid to PC security. If someone changes,
adds or deletes any of your files you will know.
9) Integrity Master is useful with disk diagnostics. You can run your
normal test programs to check if your disk drive is working OK right now,
but was it working correctly at 3 PM yesterday? Integrity Master will
detect any disk errors which caused data damage earlier.
10) You just restored your files from a backup. Are all the files really OK?
Integrity Master will tell you.
11) You just deleted *.BAT rather than *.BAK. Integrity Master will
tell you exactly which files you need to restore.
12) Your hard disk is having problems. Now DOS will not even recognize it as
a disk. IM can diagnose and then reload your partition and boot sectors
to "fix" your disk!
What's new?
-----------
Version 2.11:
1) Integrity Master now displays a one line summary of each virus
detected along with the full one or two page detailed description.
2) A "/1" "one line virus report" report option is now available for
people scanning large number of viruses who want to avoid the full
page (or more) report of virus characteristics. This option also
prevents details on suspicious files from appearing in the report
file.
3) IM supports a new /RF=filespec parameter. This allows you to specify
the file where you want IM to write its report from the command line
(rather than using the menus). This may include a disk and directory
path as well as the file name.
4) Fixed problem in paging during the settings display of SetupIM which
could result in an invalid "Bad SLOC" message.
5) The command line help display now allows full forward and backward
paging.
6) IM identifies over 300 new viruses by name and characteristic including:
Beep, Burma, C Virus, CPW.1527, CV4, Cha-cha, CloneWar, CyberTech2,
Demolition Dosver, Dreamer, Dy, ETC, Egg, Eko Terror, FGT, Faerie,
Flash, FruitFly, Golgi Grunt2, Haifa-M, HideNowt, Hiperion,
Hitler, Int10, Intruder, Mabuhay, Maffy Mark, II, Maus, Metallica2,
Moose2, Mud, Rape2, Rush, Hour, S-Bug, Scroll Shanghai, Sheep,
Slime, Squeaker, Tomato, Twitch, Vector, Viruz.729, Vootie, Wave,
Willow, XAM, YAM.3599, YAP, Zero-to-zero, _2K, Boot
Version 2.01
1) IM will now check your CMOS memory for any changes that could affect
the integrity of your PC. IM can also reload your CMOS if needed.
IM checks and reloads all possible CMOS not just 64 bytes supported
by most CMOS programs. When your base CMOS changes, IM will display
details on what was changed (e.g., floppy or hard drive setup).
The "/CC" option initiates CMOS checking from the command line.
"/CC" may be used with other "/Cx" type options.
2) IM now provides extensive control over when it will update your
integrity data for changed files. If you suspect file problems, IM
can now check your files without updating the integrity data or IM
will ask what to do individually when certain files change. IM will
of course continue to not update, when a known virus or a disk error
causes a change to a file.
3) SetupIM has been enhanced to provide more specific guidance if you make
potentially unwise option choices (such as recording off-line
integrity data to a hard-disk rather than a floppy).
4) Bug fix: using both the /Dx and /Pyyyyy command line parameters will
now work correctly in all cases.
5) IM will now tolerate a superfluous "*.*", "*.EXE *.COM", or even
something like "D:\VIRUS\UPLOAD\*.*" as the first parameter on the
command line or as part of the /Pyyyyy change directory command line
option. This provides compatibility with some BBS upload processors
that insist on including this on the command line.
6) IM now has an option to scan the current and all lower directories
from the current subdirectory for known viruses. The new command
line switch for this is "/VL".
7) IM identifies 200 new viruses by name and characteristic including:
8888, Albanian, Alpha, Aragorn, Arusiek, Australian Butterfly, Chang,
Chips, Coib, Crawler, Cysta, Daemaen, Dead, Denied, E-Riluttanza,
Explosion, FJM, FileHider, Filename, Fisher, Form2, Freak, Futhark,
Halley, Hamster, Harm, Heads, II, Ice, Ilja, Infector, Intrep2, James,
Kot, Kudepsta, LessonI, Log, Lyceum2, Mindless, Mr.G, Nanite,
NaziPhobia, Oxana, PDP, Parasite, Peter2, Pick, Porridge, Puke, Radyum,
Silly SillyC, Sleepwalker, Squeaker, Tchantches, Techno, Terminator
Tree, Turn, Tver, Ugur, Vampirus, and Wanderer. Detection of Tremor
has been further improved.
